In this article the definition of distribution logistics is given, the role of distribution system management for the commodity producer and consumer is assessed. The centralization of the distribution system is characterized, its advantages and disadvantages are indicated. The distribution systems in production and trade are described. The concepts of transit terminals and distribution centers are considered. Differences between central warehouses and distribution centers have been revealed. The distribution system in the distribution center is considered on the example of the Russian company Holiday.
